About me:
First and foremost, I am a huge animal lover! Dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, fish, wildlife, you name it. I grew up in a household that always had dogs and cats, and each one was considered a true member of the family. If you ask me today whether I'm more of a dog person or a cat person, I won't be able to answer... I love them both and just can't choose.
My love for photography came a bit later in life. I've always been fascinated by art in different forms, and always loved to take photos, but I really got hooked on the actual study of photography in college. I graduated from the University of Arkansas in 2003, with a major in art (emphasis in photography and graphic design) and minor in zoology. That may sound like a strange combination, but I loved studying both subjects!
With my love for animals comes a passion for rescue. Since 2004 I have been volunteering as a photographer for animal shelters and local rescue groups, and have photographed over 3,000 homeless pets to date for shelter websites and Petfinder.com in an attempt to help them find homes. Be sure to check out my Forever Homes Wanted site, a blog that features animals currently available for adoption at the Baltimore Humane Society!
